Replicas of the Nina and Pinta, ships that brought Christopher Columbus to the new world, will be on display at the Fernandina Harbor Marina from March 21 through the 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  According to the ship’s spokesman, the ships will come through Fernandina’s harbor on the afternoon of March 20.  The estimated time of arrival is yet to be determined, but the Nina and Pinta generally arrive at their destination around 2:00 p.m.

According to the Columbus Foundation website, “no funds from government agencies or private foundations are received.” Tours pay for the ships’ operations. Prices range from $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, $6 for children. Children under 4 are free. A groups of 15 or more receives a discounted rate of $5 per person.

The video below provides information on the building of the Nina and Pinta.
