Who was a headliner at the 2003 Amelia Island Book Festival? How about 2011? Do you have any recollection? Since 2001
several New York Times bestsellers have thrilled readers by being a part of the annual Amelia Island Book Festival. This Saturday local celebrities are going to bring back some of those great memories by looking like them, sounding like them, or dressing like them – and you get to figure out exactly who they are trying to be.

All day Saturday, February 22 the free book festival will have live entertainment and breakout sessions at the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center.

At 10am “Guess Who Came” explodes on stage as Larry Myers representing VyStar will try to get over his shy, retiring nature and begin the guessing game. He’ll be followed by City Commissioner Johnny Miller, community volunteer Buffy Wells and finance whiz Stan Fishburn.

The live entertainment continues at 1pm when FSCJ’s Professor Chris Twiggs hosts festival authors Kim Boykin, Brian Eames, Danny Ellis, LuAnn McLane and Laura Morrigan as they wow attendees with their stage presence and performance interpretations of their work.

Returning to the theme of “Guess Who” – Friends of the Library’s president Bill Flynn, Library Director Dawn Bostwick, Yulee High’s football coach Bobby Ramsay, former commissioner Arlene Filkoff and thespian Billy Powell will take on the characteristics of some authors we’d love to have at the festival. Fernandina’s mayor Ed Boner is also scheduled to appear.

It’s a guessing game you won’t want to miss. Who knows what author’s persona is lurking within their minds. Could it be King, Grisham, perhaps Rowling? “Guess Who’s Coming, Maybe” will be the grand finale of a fun packed day at the Amelia Island Book Festival that you don’t want to miss.
