Over 700 cyclist are participating in today’s North Florida Bicycle Club “Endless Watermelon Ride.”  Cyclists  throughout North Florida are riding 20 to 100 miles beginning at the Atlantic Avenue Recreation Center, through Fort Clinch State Park, and for those demanding a more challenging ride, beyond our island’s south-end bridge.

Don Eipert and other local bicycle enthusiasts  worked hard to bring the cycling event to Fernandina.  One hundred thirty volunteers, many of whom man stations along the route,  provide watermelon to the participants.
