Wiki-Wiki food truck

Wednesday afternoon the Wiki-Wiki food truck offered free lunch at Quality Health to all Northeast Florida nursing assistants, courtesy of Northeast Florida Community Hospice. Other customers looking for lunch were also welcome, but had to pay.

Wiki-Wiki owners Steve Strawley and fiancé, Diane, were offering some fine lunches. There were actually 8 food trucks around the Jacksonville area, part of the same celebration.  The effort recognizes nursing care and National Nursing Assistant Week (June 13-20), according to Mary Kay Grimaldi, Director of Communications.

ZZ2There are approximately 1300 patients being cared for daily with 940 employees and 930 volunteers by  Northeast Florida Community Hospice.  For more information go to www.CommunityHospice.com or call 1-800-274-6614.

Ocean Club Of Amelia on South Fletcher – Guests gather; Denise Taylor Event Manager; Owner George Stewart and daughter Chloe

Thursday night was Third Thursday for the Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce and the Business After Hours took place at The Ocean Club of Amelia near Sliders Restaurant.  In fact, this building used to be the Beach Club and was recently sold to Sliders to be used for special functions.

Denise Taylor is the Event Manager for this new venue and suggests it would be suitable for weddings, receptions, anniversary celebrations and corporate events.  The Chamber event was well attended and the upstairs and deck were open, bright and inviting.  The soft breeze on the deck made for a delightful evening of networking and good food and drinks.

La Mancha
La Mancha – Scheduled to open in a few days

Just down the road on Sadler, where Shoney’s used to be is a new restaurant, ready to open in a few days.  So watch for LaMancha, a new nicely appointed dining room, featuring Spanish and Portuguese food and tapas.
