Another visitor to Amelia Island last night was TV personality and First Coast NewsAnchor, Donna Deegan.  After 28 years in the broadcast industry, she has left the business to concentrate on raising funds to support her foundation, the Donna Foundation.

A three time breast cancer survivor, Donna formed the foundation “to raise money for critical needs of First Coast women living with cancer.” She told the audience at the local Board of Realtor’s office that she was happy to now be focusing on positive solutions rather than the grim business of daily negative news, like murders and rape.

She was promoting a product, called Protandim, the first product she has endorsed and which purports to “eliminate the progressive, age-dependent increase in…biomarkers of oxidative stress.”  She and her family have been using this product and have found it to be very effective for many of the normal effects of aging such as joint pain, energy levels and clarity of thinking after chemotherapy.  Of course, the long range effects of reducing the oxidative stress associated with aging and diseases of aging are the focus of this nutritional supplement.

Many of the people in this audience, including this reporter, have had experiences with cancer or other diseases and a lively discussion followed the presentation.
