Birds of a Feather
Birds of a Feather

Located at the corner of Gum and 8th, the once empty storefront now boasts a new business.  “Birds of a Feather,” is a home for “vintiques” or vintage and antiques, according to owner Bri (pronounced bree) Johnson.  You may have seen this business on Sadler or at “The Pickers Market” at one time, but this new location certainly adds to its visibility.  Bri and her “not too silent partner,” Marla Southwell will be officially opening the business on March 1st, but is already open for customers at 626 South 8th Street.

With lots of space and attractive groupings, the store offers not only furniture, paintings, etc., but Bri (ASID) also will do consultations on interior design. Also coming are coffee, pastries and live plants.  Bri loves the new location and hopes that the store will add to the attractiveness of 8th Street, which leads people into our city.

In the same location in a separate building is another business, Integrated Comm Systems, which, according to Managing Partner, Dan Whitfield, opened in September.  The business relocated from Callahan.  It primarily is concerned with communication systems, mobile and home. Check www.cbradiosplus.com for consumer products and www.2wayradioplus.com or www.integratedcomsystems.com for more information.

Moving south to 732 South 8th Street, Savage Stone and Retail Therapy Consignment are wearing new fronts and looking fine.  You can’t miss the lovely lady mannequin outside whose outfits are changed daily by co-owner Jessica Savage Forbes and her sister Julia Nichole Savage.
