The Fernandina Beach Golf Course Advisory Board was notified Monday that Billy Casper Golf (BCG) will replace Damian Brink as general manager of the Fernandina course. Shortly after BCG took over City golf operations (Dec. 2010), Brink, an employee of BCG, was assigned to manage the Fernandina Beach Golf Course. Brink oversaw numerous improvements to the golf course highlighted in a recent Fernandina Observer article.
According to Doug Bailey golf course advisory chair, BCG is conducting an internal search to fill Brink’s position and it is expected a golf director position will be filled within the next two weeks. Kyle Roosen assistant pro, will be acting director until a replacement is found.
BCG is challenged to increase revenue in a highly competitive golf market. Marketing plans are underway to drive increased revenue by offering special pricing, and by increasing special events.
