Ed Boner – A city commission candidate profile . . .

Submitted by Don Parker

Ed Boner, Candidate Group 4

Ed is a native.  He grew up right here in Fernandina.  His father was a shift superintendent at Rayonier either when it opened or close to it. He worked there for 44 years.  Ed’s mother was one of the founders of the Board of Realtors in Fernandina and worked here for years as a successful realtor.

After graduating from Stetson University, it was real estate that captured Ed’s interest, has been his major occupation, and obviously his pleasure for 26 years.  He actually became licensed at age 18 or 19, became a broker at age 22, and opened his business,  the Realty Source, Inc., 25 years ago.  He married Melissa 15 years ago and they have two boys ages 9 and 12.  Ed owns 4 surfboards and I would guess surfing is a family event.

Motivation for becoming a city commissioner comes from his lifelong love of this town.  He says that he has for years helped people to make wise decisions and what, for most, is their largest investment in life their homes or their business.

Ed is a “specialist in efficiency, is an accomplished negotiator, and cares deeply about this town and all its citizens.”  He also claims  “the town has serious financial problems and as a commissioner I can help fix them.”
