City Manager Joe Gerrity confirmed that Daniel R Hanes will return on August 6 to his former position as chief of fire and rescue for the City of Fernandina Beach.  Hanes left his position in July of 2011 for personal reasons that have since been resolved.

During Hanes’ tenure with the city, he was  highly respected for his knowledge and leadership. “I am flattered to be offered the position,” says Hanes, “I look forward to coming back to Fernandina Beach and working again with the fine men and women of the city fire and rescue department.”
