August might seem as if it’s a long way off, but the NCCOA is already hard at work preparing for the Fifth Annual Senior Expo and Health Fair. NCCOA will once again partner with Baptist Health for the event, slated for Friday, August 25 from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m. at the Atlantic Avenue Rec Center, 2500 Atlantic Avenue, Fernandina Beach.
The lineup of exhibitors continues togrow each year. More than 60 health service providers, state and local government agencies and other senior service organizations and businesses have expressed an interest in this year’s Expo. Exhibitor registration is underway now with applications due by June 30.
While the focus of the Senior Expo and Health Fair is on addressing the needs of those 60 and older, the event is also a valuable resource for caregivers and residents of all ages facing health issues or needing information and assistance. Exhibitors will be available to discuss home healthcare, Social Security and Medicare benefits, property taxes, physical wellness, emergency preparedness and more. Baptist Health will also offer free medical screenings for blood glucose levels, prostate cancer, bone density and more.
The Senior Expo and Health Fair is FREE and open to the public, so make plans to join us on Friday, August, 25 from 9a.m. to 2 p.m., and watch for more information to come!
