During February 2017, the city surveyed 266 permits, a decrease of 28 from February 2016. This brought the city $120,076 in fees. Permits were issued for 6 new residential buildings. The activity generating the most permits—42—continued to be roofing/reroofing.

The year-to-date permit total is 564: 30 more than for the comparable period last year with new commercial and residential construction permits down 4 from 20 at this time in 2016.
