The award recognizes NACDAC’s efforts for exemplary service and commitment to the community’s most vulnerable populations. “Substance abuse directly impacts our quality of life by breaking down individuals, families and communities” said Susan Woodford, NACDAC Executive Director. “NACDAC works to create safe and healthy communities and places prevention efforts as a priority.”

As one of 55 community prevention coalitions throughout the State of Florida, NACDAC is committed to making our county a safe, drug-free environment for our youth. NACDAC has prevention specialists in Nassau County middle and high schools that provide drug and alcohol assessments and referrals to youth in need. NACDAC staff also work with a dedicated school sponsor to support “Teens For Change”, an all-inclusive youth coalition. NACDAC teaches “LifeSkills” to assist youth with refusal skills, coping and to support young people to make healthy choices in their lives.
