Townies Pizzeria manager Robby Ward and two Townies team members present the Fernandina Beach High School Boys’ Soccer team with a $400 ceremonial check to celebrate the restaurant’s support of sports and exercise in the local community.

“Support from Townies enables us to have a successful soccer season and
provide much needed gear to our players,” said Pete Kovalick, FBHS Boys’
Soccer coach. “We’re thankful we have a locally-owned restaurant that cares
about our community!”

The FBHS Boys’ Soccer team are three-time Boys’ Soccer District Champions.
As public schools continue to face tight budgets for their athletic
programs, financial support from the community is crucial in keeping these
programs running.

“We’re proud to support our local schools’ athletic programs and their
mission to teach sportsmanship and keep kids active,” said Matt Klabacka,
owner of Townies Pizzeria. “The Fernandina Beach High School Boys’ Soccer
team is very successful, we enjoy watching them play and help contribute to
their success.”

Townies is dedicated to supporting local arts, education, sports,
environmental programs, military veterans and first responders throughout
the Fernandina Beach community by giving financial support as well as in
kind donations. Townies Pizzeria is celebrating its most successful year in
business since its founding, as it is among the top 10 percent of American
pizzerias.
