Preservation architect Herschel Shepard to speak at History Museum August 3

The Amelia Island Museum of History invites you to its next Brown Bag Lunch on Wednesday, August 3rd at noon. Our special guest will be Preservation architect Herschel Shepard.

With over 50 years of experience, Shepard has served as an architect and consultant on projects across the State of Florida, including restoration work on Fort Clinch, the 1902 State Capitol in Tallahassee, and the Florida Theatre in Jacksonville. He has been called “one of the pre-eminent preservation architects in the southeastern United States,” and is the recipient of prestigious awards and honors for his work in the field of historic preservation. Shepard will discuss how he became involved in preservation and talk about the importance of discovering and protecting Florida’s early history.
