Communities In Schools of Nassau, announces the retirement of Executive Director, Susan Milana effective June 30, 2016. Susan served the affiliate for the past 14 years. She is longest serving director since the establishment in 1993. “The Board of Directors thanks Susan on her 14 years of service and wishes her well on her retirement, “said Dawn Lunt, CIS Treasurer for the past 5 years.

Jamie Bernard, previous Director of Community Resources has been chosen as the incoming Executive Director and will begin her new position July 1. The board is looking forward to this new chapter for Communities In Schools Nassau.

Over 3,000 Nassau County secondary students annually access walk in, classroom and referral services directly at their school. Last year, over 450 students received intensive case management services. These much needed services help to remove obstacles that often block a student’s path to success.
