State Regent visits Amelia Island DAR Chapter – Honors Vietnam era veterans

The ceremony was part of the chapter’s participation in the Vietnam Commemorative Partners Program, which is spearheaded locally by past Regent Marie Santry.

State Regent Poffenberger delivered a short presentation about DAR schools, with emphasis on the Kate Duncan School located in Grant, Alabama. The Amelia Island Chapter presented her with a check for $1,414.00 for the state project of raising funds to refurbish the 92-year old school. There is a total of six DAR or DAR-endorsed schools throughout the country.
