Youth Leadership Nassau seeking applicants

The 2015-16 class of Youth Leadership Nassau is seeking applicants. 10th and 11th grade students who have demonstrated leadership in school and/or community activities, who have an interest in addressing the issues confronting Nassau County, and who have a “B” or better GPA are invited to apply.

The program’s objectives include:

  • To identify high school students who have demonstrated leadership qualities and concern for the community.
  • To present in-depth programs that will acquaint participants with community needs, opportunities, problems and resources, and provide interaction with community leaders and decision makers.
  • To develop an understanding of leadership qualities and group skills.
  • To provide opportunities for students from different areas to know one another and develop a level of mutual trust and respect.

The program will consist of an initial evening orientation and seven (7) all-day sessions (9:00 AM – 3:00 PM unless otherwise notified), all designed to inform students on facets of the community.

Completed applications along with a teacher or counselor recommendation letter must be received by noon on September 4, 2015.

Applications can be submitted to the front office at each Nassau County high school or to the Nassau County Extension Service, Attn: Margaret Johnson, 543350 US Highway 1 North, Callahan, FL 32011.
