The parking lot was full at noon and people were waiting to eat at the Beach Diner. It opened today at 6 a.m. at the former Applebee’s location with a very busy staff, that had been training over the weekend. The owner, Barry Adeeb, was on hand to oversee everything and greeted diners at their tables.
This is a follow-up on the article I did earlier this year on another of the Beach Diners in San Marco, where I remarked that this family was very familiar with the food industry in Jacksonville. In fact, in addition to the Beach Diners in San Marco, Ponte Vedra, Mandarin and Atlantic Beach, they also own Willie Jewel’s BBQ in Yulee.
The décor was the same as the others, predominantly blue with white bead board and light tables. There is also a bar for single or overflow diners. Breakfast and lunch are served from 6 a.m. to 2:30 and there are daily specials more like dinner meals at lunch. You can also contact them for catering at 904-310-3750.
Watch this new restaurant for future plans to include dinner hours.

Big Guy and I had breakfast 2nd day. Great help. Great prices. Super addition to food scene on Amelia Island.
Peggie and I had breakfast at the “Diner” on Thurs. Morning. The best breakfast of any restaurant on the Island. Good bright atmosphere, Wait staff well trained, service was prompt, food excellent, and prices reasonable. We will be going back soon. Thank you Mr Adeeb for showing this Town, how it’s done.
This staff was awesome. The wife and I ate here a few days ago and they didn’t hold back on the food. The prices were unbelievably low — but no complaints from me. We ate in the bar area and the bar tender was just amazing; I believe her name was Ricki or Ronni.
Certainly worth the visit. We’ll be back!
