Few writers are able to see their writing published in the New York Times, but local writer and real estate agent Diana Frank will be able to do just that when she opens up the Sunday morning paper. Frank is a big fan of the “Modern Love” column located in the style section of the New York Times.
As a member of a small writing group, Frank suggested the members write something that might fit into the column. Rules for submission require the story must be true and no changing of names.
Within three weeks Frank was contacted by the editor of the column who said her story “was a charming story.” Considering 99% of the submissions are rejected, Frank was “amazed.” Her writing will be titled “An Itemized Marriage Proposal via Voice Mail.”
Frank is a California native who moved to Florida twelve years ago. She graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in journalism and has worked as a free lance writer. She is currently a realtor with Keller Williams.

Way to go, Diana. Please publish it on the network so we can all enjoy the article!
Kudos! Please publish it here too!
We have requested the New York Times grant us permission to publish the writing in its entirety. Should hear from them by mid week.
Mid-week, ugh! I subscribe to NYT online, and will happily send you the link to Diana’s piece first thing tomorrow morning. Or I can copy/paste the entire text and supply that as well. Say the word, and it’s yours!
I just checked, Diana’s piece is already published online! I understand you’re trying to keep within professional courtesy boundaries, and I won’t put you in jeopardy, but I’ve got it right here on my desktop if you want it.
