A sleek futuristic design and shiny new gold finish, makes a Palmer Johnson Yacht resemble something out of a science fiction movie. The yacht named the “KHALILAH” is moored at the Fernandina Harbor Marina and it is worth a trip to see on a dreary Sunday afternoon. Wooden hulled shrimp boats visible in the distance offer quite a contrast to a modern luxury yacht made of composite material and priced at 20 million dollars.
Dock side chatter claims a minor medical emergency unexpectedly brought the yacht to the marina. Chatter also indicates the boat will leave early tomorrow morning as it journeys to an undisclosed location to be placed in the hands of a buyer. Just in time for Christmas!
According to the Palmer Johnson website, “Khalilah is the largest carbon composite super yacht ever built. Stunning gold hull with black superstructure. Revolutionary hull design gives 32 knot top speed – yet 50% more fuel efficient than any other yacht.” Other website locations report the yacht accommodates 12 guests and 9 crew members.
Thanks for posting. Those beautiful yachts are fun to see and daydream about…
I was lucky enough to see this when it was being built last summer when I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law! Custom yacht building is Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin’s claim to fame.
