The Fernandina Beach Branch Library will be OPEN a little longer before moving into its new home!

Library 003

The Library will be OPEN Monday-Wednesday, November 24-26 from 10 am-6pm. Regular hours will resume from Monday, December 1 through Tuesday, December 9th.

Then CLOSE on Wednesday, December 10th until Friday, December 26th. The Library will then OPEN on Saturday, December 27 and resume regular hours of operation until Phase II is complete in early February 2015.

The new Children’s Corner, Meeting Room, and Browsing Area will temporarily house half of the library’s collection. The existing 6,000 sq. ft. of collection space will be reduced to only 2,500 sq. ft. during this phase of the project. Over 35,000 items will need to go to good foster homes; or be stored until the existing building is renovated.

Fernandina Beach Library materials will continue to be checked out for three months until opening on December 27th! The best part-no late fines will accrue during this time.

Passports will not be processed during the time the library is closed.

Internet access will be limited to 6 public computers. Wireless access will be available during this time.

We sincerely apologize for the delay and inconvenience. We are working as quickly as possible to open our doors! We appreciate your patience during this time.

Drove by the other day and the place looks great, Many thinks for all those who made it possible. The Friends of the Library deserve much appreciation for not only their hard work, but also their persistence to get this job done.
