The Nassau County Economic Development Board (NCEDB), a local nonprofit corporation committed to encouraging economic growth and vitality in Nassau County, announced today that Laura DiBella has been appointed as the new Executive Director effective October 1, 2014.  She replaces Steve Rieck, who retires from seven years of service with the NCEDB.  In her new role, Ms. DiBella will work closely with the Board and its investors to further their mission of promoting economic development in Nassau County through its Nassau Tomorrow strategic plan.

“After a thorough search, we feel fortunate to welcome such an amazing and tenacious talent to lead our organization.  Laura’s enthusiasm coupled with her marketing expertise and successful real estate track record is the perfect combination to promote the natural assets and resources of Nassau County.  Laura, the NCEDB staff and Board of Directors are committed to furthering the NCEDB’s mission of bringing new business and jobs to the County, while working closely with existing businesses to expand their operations,” said Dan Camp, current NCEDB Board Chair.

DiBella joins the NCEDB with a highly diversified 13-year career portfolio encompassing marketing, real estate and manufacturing.  Her career began with Enviro Voraxial Technology, Inc. (EVTN), an engineering and manufacturing firm in Ft. Lauderdale, FL where she was responsible for the organization’s marketing efforts.  While at EVTN, Ms. DiBella pursued a passion for more knowledge and obtained her real estate license.  Furthering her marketing career, she became the co-founder and eventual Chief Operating Officer for Image Marketing and Special Events, Inc., a marketing and staffing firm based in Ocean Ridge, FL.  During her tenure, she pitched to and won the business of GMC, Hummer, Proctor and Gamble, Bellsouth, Diageo, Allied Domecq Spirits, Miller Brewing Company, Heineken USA and more, all while managing a contract national staff upwards of 500 employees.

In 2006, Ms. DiBella pursued a full-time real estate career.  She quickly rose through the brokerage ranks and amassed a selling inventory in excess of $75 million in the North Florida Market.  Working on behalf of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and other clients, she negotiated and closed numerous large scale transactions throughout the region and beyond.

Ms. DiBella holds a BS in Human Resource Development and Management from the University of Florida.  She is currently or has been involved in many community organizations including, but not limited to, the Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce, JAX Chamber, The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, Pace Center for Girls, Hands on Jacksonville and the National Parkinson’s Foundation.

“What attracted me to this position was the opportunity to be an integral part of the development and disposition of some of the most valuable real estate in North Florida, namely the Crawford Diamond and the East Nassau Community Planning Area (ENCPA) – both of which will greatly benefit Nassau County as a whole, as well as, the entire Jacksonville MSA.  The NCEDB has an incredible team, Board and platform thanks to the efforts of my predecessor, Steve Rieck, and it is an honor for me to not only work with all involved but also represent all as the new Executive Director for the NCEDB,” stated Ms. DiBella.
