Editor’s Note: This photo of the Golden Orb spider was taken on Sandra’s route to the beach for her turtle patrol duties. According to Sandra, the spiders have numerous webs between the trees creating archway as she drives on the Fort Clinch trail to the beach

For the past 10 years, Sandra Baker Hinton has served as an Amelia Island Sea Turtle Watch volunteer patrolling the beaches of Fort Clinch State Park. As she travels along the park roads, Baker-Hinton appreciates the beauty of nature as she watches the morning unfold. .

Besides Sea Turtles, Baker-Hinton enjoys painting and photography. Her art work and the work of other artists, are displayed and offered for sale in her Amelia SanJon Gallery located in the Historic District.

In 2011, Baker-Hinton won top prize in the Wild Amelia Photo Competition.

Not to toot my own horn but I just won one of the Photo competition categories, “Lifestyle”, put on by the Tourism people with a photo of one of my regular morning fishermen I see in the park at Fort Clinch.
